Wow!!

Image
Wow!! I can't believe that I haven't posted for almost 4 months! It has just been very hectic all summer. I haven't really done anything crafty. My daughter Jenn got married in October. I made 2 cards for her. They were fast cards, and I printed them on my printer.   The inside is a Stampin up stamp, but that too, I printed on the printer.   Jenn's theme, was "Rockstar". She wanted Purple, Black & Silver. I added silver & purple brads.     Next, we had a Surprise 75th Brithday party for my Mom. She definately was surprised!! Then the biggest surprise was that she thought I was taking her to Chicago to see 2 of her friends, like we usually do every year at this time. Instead we went on a trip to Washington D.C. We were there for 6 days, 5 nights. We were busy every day sightseeing. It was a great trip. We could have used more time to see everything though. These are friends that my Mom has met through her Grief Group. We had a total of 42 g

70th Birthday card

Image
A co-worker, Kyle asked me to make a card for his Dad's 70th birthday. His Dad likes Baseball and the Wisconsin Badgers.  Now, the Badgers don't  have a baseball team, but I think this still looks great. Nancy Babb from Creative Digital Art center, designed this digital image for me!!  I colored with my Prismacolor pencils, stamped the "DAD" with Penny Black stamps. The paper is Real Red, and Gina K.                                   The inside of the card is another Digital Image, the glove, from Shelly Parker of Crafters Digital Art Center. I colored it with Prismacolor markers. I typed the sentiment on the computer, and downloaded the Baseball from Google Images.       I'm hoping this has gotten me back in the stamping mood again!!  Lot's of not so good things have happened in my personal life lately and I need some good stuff now!!!         I recently placed a Stampin' Up order, received it, but haven't opened it yet!! Maybe I will tod

The other evening I downloaded a Digi from DeeDee's Digi's.  I thought he was adorable!! Paper is Real Red, Gina K Pure Luxury White, misc dp. I colored with Prismacolor markers and pens. I should have waited a longer time I think, because the markers smeared the printer ink. The coloring of his body isn't my best work!! I sponged the edges with Real Red and added some bright brads. How do you like him?? This new layout process is throwing me off! It has definately changed from a few days ago!!     Yesterday I received my Secret Sister package!!!  My Secret Sister was Angie (Renski on SCS).  Look at all of the goodies she sent me!!!  I ate the chocolate right away!!!

A few more creations & my crafting area!

Image
To start out, I wanted to post a pic of the flowers that my daughter Jenn planted for us. This is our balcony. Much prettier in real life!! She asked me to make a Father's Day card for her BF. I used a stamp by Stampscapes and Hero Arts (sentiment). I used Night of Navy, Basic Gray, Marrakesh, Creative Memories Oval Shape Cutter, Pebbles chalk, Stickles, Chocolate Chip & Night of Navy Inks. It does look much brighter in real life too! This was a bookmark I made for the Designing D*I*V*A*S* "anything but a card" challenge. I used Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange paper, Melon mambo ink, Sidekick greetings stamp, ribbon and a charm. I hope my Secret Sister likes it! I moved on April 2, and finally have my room in order! This is my stamping/crafting area. This is my computer/office area. Well, I hope to be a little more creative since things are now in order!!!

Finally!!!

Well, I'm finally back!! The last 2 months have been so busy for me!! I've moved, been working a lot, my youngest daughter, Cristine, Graduated from college. I went to Las Vegas for a conference for work. My office/craft room is still not as organized as I would like, but I've finally been able to make 2 cards!! They are for my Secret Sister who is in the Blogging Group Design D*I*V*A*S*... The first card is an evelope card. I've never made one of these before, and it was fun!! It is a 12x12 piece of SU designer paper. I added a piece of Chocolate Chip SU ribbon, Hodgepodge hardware clip to close the ribbon. I used Nestabilities Ovals and the SU Oval punches, then used the SU Oval All stamp to stamp the sentiment. Added 2 Primas and a bronze brad to attach them. I sponged the border of the envelope with Close to Cocoa ink. Card-open, with the inner piece of cardstock for writing on. I stamped Itty Bitty Backgrounds and sponged it with Close to Cocoa. This next card

Well, we finally got all moved in last weekend. We even got to have Easter dinner!! I just love how big the kitchen is. That was the first room to get organized. Cristine, Matt, Mom & Jenn The only room left to unpack is my computer/craft room!! I have to get my new desk put together, unpack books to put in the closet in bookcases, then organize my craft area. Hopefully in the next few days.!!! Here is Hunter coloring Easter Eggs. The Easter Bunny then came at night and hid them all!! Look at that stash!! I found 2 eggs a few days later. Good thing they were the plastic ones!! Well, I better get to work and get the unpacking done, so I can start stamping again!!! It has been way too long!!

Hi Everyone!! I know that I have been MIA for over a month!!! A lot of things have been happening in my life. I tell you, it is not boring!! I just got back from a wonderful week in Cancun, Mexico with my BFF, Rebecca and 2 other gals, Kim & Sara. Here is a picture from our balcony of one of the pools. The beach was fabulous. We only had 1 days of rain, and that was in the middle of the week, so we shopped most of the day! I got a beautiful ring and 3 pair of earrings. Good deals too!! We went "Bar Leaping" one night and had a lot of fun!! Sara, Rebecca , Kim & Me Our traveling was a disaster, however. On the way there, our initial flight was delayed out of northern Wisconsin, due to the Chicago flight delayed by fog. So, we missed our connecting flight to Cancun. Kim got to go on Stand-by, since her friend Sara did manage to get out from Chicago. So, Rebecca & I were sent to Washington, DC, and we flew out the next day to Cancun. It was raining an

The busy Triage Nurse!!! (Me)

I don't have a new card to post today, but I've had so much happen at work in the last couple of days, I just have to share. I wanted to post a picture of some kind, so here is a pic of Hunter & Jenn. My Grandson, who is the light of my life, and his Mom, my oldest daughter. Here is Jenn, Me & Cristine, my youngest daughter!! As you may know, I used to work in the Emergency Department, but I have been a full time Telephone Triage Nurse since the end of October. (I've actually done Triage for the last 10 yers with the ED) Yesterday was a very trying day. One of my early morning callers said "F*** You, shut up, I don't have to listen to you." (He doesn't, but he called for advice) He demanded to know what was wrong with him, he wanted to speak to a doctor. He ended up hanging up on me. Then an intoxicated pt. called stated he wanted to die. He was hoping to do it by not eating for 4 days, smoking and drinking alcohol. I suggested that

A Free Digi Print!! & the Dentist!!!

Image
I was surfing the blogs yesterday. I can't remember who's blog I saw this on, but she had this image posted, so I went to the site and I got this Free digi here. Isn't she cute??? I printed it on Gina K Pure Luxury White , colored with Prismacolor markers, added Stickles , and heart Gems . I also used the SU circle & Scallop punch and my paper piercer . Paper colors: SU Lovely Lilac & Pixie Pink . I hope all of my fellow bloggers on the East Coast are getting shoveled out!! We also got snow here in Wisconsin, but only about 5". We have a lot of wind and blowing snow. Yesterday I went to the dentist for a tooth problem. Cold things caused me pain!! Well, it turns out that I need a root canal next week. The bad thing is, it will be the 2nd root canal through a crown!!! I just had the crown put on a few months ago. Anyway, once my anesthetic wore off yesterday, I had the worst dental pain ever!!! The dentist drilled it to deaden the pain and put anesthetic in

Color Challenge88 & another Valentine

Image
I got this stamp (Shirley's2Girls) in October when my Mom and I went to the Chicago burbs for the weekend. We found a little stamping store out in the western burbs, but unfortunately, I can't remember the town or the shop name!! (I do have CRS disease!!) I used it today with SCS Color Challenge88 . We were to use SU colors: Bordering Blue, Certainly Celery & Elegant Eggplant. I stamped in Memento Black on Gina K Pure Luxury White cardstock. Also used Basic Grey "Sugar Rush" dp. I used Prismacolor pencils, markers & Gamsol. Her hat and coat are really PURPLE, but they look BLUE in the pic! I added stickles to her hat, flocked her cuff, and added Primas, ribbon and a brad. Here is a close up of her hat and cuff. It's hard to see the flocking. I made this Valentine last week. Another Loads of Love and Accessories. Prismacolor markers and pencils, stickles, Creative Memories corner punch. Memento Black & Melon Mambo Ink, Real Red, Gina K P

Love, Love, Love!

Image
Todays Featured Stamper on SCS was jdmommy . Her favorite color is RED. This is her card, here is her entire Gallery We were to change at least 2 things. I changed the Stamp , the colors , and the layout. At first I had a red tulip in the center, but when I was adding a pretty little stem and leaves, I smudged the clean white background!!! So, I had to turn the paper over and I came up with this! I used the {stamps} of Life by Stephanie Barnard, Set #4 Love2Hug . The paper is Papertrey Pure Poppy, and Gina K Pure Luxury White. Ink is SU Rose Red . I also used a Martha Stewart Border Punch , added Stickles , and a bow made with SU Ribbon. Well, I have 2 more days to work. Monday is a Holiday (Martin Luther King's Birthday), and I have to work 12 hours. Then only 8 on Tuesday, and finally a day off on Wednesday. I hope to get some more stamping, or scrapbooking done that day.

Purple!!!

Limited Supplies Challenge & my sewing attempt!!

Image
This was the Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS from yesterday. We were to make a card for someone we love, using the colors of Red , White, Black and Pink . Also to incorporate polka dots. I love Black & White cards!!! I just don't make enough of them!! The inside of the card has a white piece of cardstock, and I've stamped Happy Valentine's Day in black ink. Paper: SU Black, misc dp, Gina K pure luxury. Ink : Melon Mambo Accessories : Nesties, Cuttlebug, ribbon, primas, brads, Prismacolor Marker Next was my attempt to zig-zag stitch on paper. This was my 3rd attempt!! I still couldn't get it right. I was using the hand control instead of the foot pedal, so maybe that was my problem! Plus the thread kept breaking!! This was one of my Christmas presents, a Singer Quick Fix Complete Mini machine. I really wanted to get the zig-zag right!!! The straight stitch was ok. So, I wasted almost a whole sheet of 12x12 DP, and a piece of Certainly Celery Cardst

Organizing, Valentine, Thank You!

Image
I've spent almost the entire day reorganizing my stamping area. This is my desk (looks messy, but it's really not!). I have 3 carts that I keep most of my stamps in. My finished cards are in the purple basket. Under the desk I have a lovely Panera Bread bag that holds all of my Bubble wrap and shipping envelopes. See the salt lamp on top?? Not sure if it's actually given me any health benefits yet, but I'm keeping it on!! Next is the built in bookshelves that my DH built several years ago for my huge book collection. The doors open up and there are shelves all across the back wall. To the left is my Bookmark collection. My Koala Bear and Teddy Bear are almost as old as me. I got them when I was about 1 year old! A lot of the books have left the building, and have been replaced by stamping/scrapping supplies. My primas & ribbons are on the shelves as well in those 8 white containers. To the left of my desk is my container of baggies with all of my scraps, in a
