Oldies But Goodies Blog Hop

Image
I'm so glad to be participating in this months OBG hop!! I haven't made any cards for about 3 months!! Posting on my blog has been lacking too!! (P.S. I hate this new Blogger layout for posting!!)  Our blog hop showcases cards made with items that we have had "stashed" for at least 6 months. An "Oldie but goodie" that we've pulled out and blown off the dust to create something with it. I made 2 cards for the hop today!! I actually colored them about 3 months ago, but they have just been sitting around!  They are both Sassy Cheryl Birthday images. This is Birthday Balloon boy. Cardstock is Yoyo Yellow, dp is "Celebrations" bu the Paper Studio. I added 2 balloon brads and used Bakery Twine for the strings. Sentiment is a miscellaneous one, ink is Pacific Blue. I used the SU oval and scalloped oval punch and pierced it. It is colored with Copics.     This cutie is called "Cheesy Surprise Gift". Card stock is Green Gable, d
Hi everyone,   I am fine... I have been very, very delinquent in card making and posting to my blog!! Ever since I got my Kindle, it seems all I have been doing is reading, reading and reading!!! It used to be one of my favorite things to do.   takes much less effort than card making!! ha ha... I do miss getting my creative juices flowing, however!!       Tomorrow, Saturday, I am going to visit Hunter! Haven't seen him since February!! Hopefully we will all get to see him in July and have a Birthday party for him. His Birthday was May 25. They went camping for the weekend, so we didn't get to see him.  My daughter is still proceeding with court to get him back!! It is such a long, hard road!!  But we have high hopes!!!    Sunday I am having a Bridal Shower for Cristine. The wedding is June 25 in the Virgin Islands!!  Not too far away!! Only 2 weeks.   Can't wait to share all of the pictures when we get back.    I have lost 37 pounds so far, since I started my we

She is colored with Copics. The card stock is by Gina K, Pure Luxury Vibrant Violet & White. The dp is Bazzill, "Jaybird Street". I rounder all of the corner with my Creative Memories Corner Rounder (Did I ever say how much I love that tool? ha ha)  Then I added some stickles and some bling!!  Her hair and glasses are more purple looking IRL.     Now....here is my new car!!! Just got it on Wednesday!!  My daughter, Jenn,  is a car sales person, and of course I bought it from her.  It is a 2011 Kia Optima LX.  I didn't really know I was looking for a car!!  The price was very right, and I knew that my car was going to be needing some major work soon, so I bit the bullet!!   Thanks for looking!!! Come back again, soon. Hopefully I won't stay away so long!!

Hi there!! I know I've been missing for awhile.... I've been here, just not in the mood for blogging.  I still have a lot of pain if I sit up for too long. I had a CT scan yesterday, and it showed no hernia or infection in my abdomen, so I guess it's just post op pain that is staying with me longer than normal.  Just my luck!!!  I have to go back to work tomorrow, too!  Wish me luck.  I have to sit for 10 hours, so we will see how that goes!!    I did color all of those images last week....     I did get 3 made up, here is one....    This cutie is "Buttercup Suzie", by Sassy Cheryl's.  I originally made her for a challenge with "Buttons & Bows" but, didn't get it done in time. Card stock is Elegant Eggplant, DP is DCWV Pocket Full of Posies, Gina K Pure Luxury White. Colored with Copics, added buttons and twine. The sentiment is an SU set, but do not recall the name. It is stamped in Vibrant Violet. (By my blogger friend, Cindy G)  Al

I Pledge Allegiance

Image
How do you like this cutie??  She is another digi from Sassy Cheryl's, called "I Pledge Allegiance." I originally made it for a challenge that required anything but a square card, but I can't remember where the challenge was!!  But over at, Shopping our Stash , this week the challenge is "Circles or Dots." The card is almost a circle, and there are dots all over!!   I colored her with Copics, then cut her out and used Dimensionals and mounted her on Night of Navy.  The dp is Bo Bunny, "Liberty Collection." I cut out the base using my Creative Memories Shape Maker. The sentiment if from SU set "Spring Pictograms", stamped in Real Red. I added some Stickles for sparkle to the flag, her dress and shoes.                                  Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit today!!! Come back soon!!

Hey there!! I've been gone awhile, I know!  Thought I would get a bunch of posts ready first, but it didn't happen.  Anyway, I had some surgery done last Wed, 3-14. Came home on Friday, but went to the ER on Sunday with a lot of shortness of breath. Turns out I had 2 moderate to large pulmonary effusions. I had about 2 liters of fluid in my chest cavity around my lungs, making it hard for me to breathe. So I got admitted over night, had some IV diuretics and after peeing a lot, I went home on Monday. I am feeling a whole lot better now.  Even pain is much better.  My Mom was here visiting the whole time, so that helped. My 2 DD's were with me as well, a lot of the time.  They scared me in the ER telling me the "usual" way to get rid of the fluid is with chest tubes and needles and such. Glad we didn't go that route!!     Anyway, here is a card I made before all of that!!  Isn't it a cutie??   He is a Sassy Cheryl's digi called   "Thank God F

Polly's Teacup

Image
What flavor of tea do you like???   Isn't she is cutie, too??  This ia another awesome Sassy Cheryl's digi Sassy Cheryl's , called " Polly's Teacup."     Goes perfect for me, as I gave up drinking coffee, caffeine and carbonated beverages.  So my drink of choice, besides water, is now Herbal teas.  I used to be a big tea drinker in the past, but somehow went to coffee (and Diet Pepsi.)      The card stock is  Green Gable,  the dp is Bazill Basics "Jaybird Street."  I added some Petaloo Flowers,  and for the tea bag string and label I used Bakers Twine and a button.   I thought that was clever of me!! Isn't she cute??    It was a little tough getting up this morning for work, due to day light savings time, but I did go to bed a little bit early.  Last night, after work I went bowling with my DD and her fiance. I didn't do too well at all, a 93 and 135.  Considering my average is about 150!!  Maybe the 3rd game would have hit it

Clueless Lucy....

Image
Good Morning, everyone!!! We are supposed to have about 58 degrees today!!  Had it yesterday too, so almost all of the snow is gone! Maybe spring IS    around the corner!         Today is my day off, going to get my hair cut and colored.  (I really am a natural blonde, but I need a little help, ya know!!)     Here is a cutie I colored up over the weekend.. Another Sassy Cheryl's digi, called "Clueless Lucy."   Isn't she cute??     Card stock is Gina K Pure Luxury White and Vibrant Violet.  The dp is Bazzill Basics "Jaybird Street."  Colored her with Copics, added ribbon and Petaloo flowers                            Hope you enjoyed!!   I'm so glad to be off today!! We were sooo busy on Monday at work, I came home with a terrible headache and did nothing but lay on the couch! Yesterday wasn't quite so busy, but still glad to be off today. Next, I will work 4 in a row!! Tomorrow is my day off too, but I am working overtime!! Silly me!!

Signs of Spring--(Coming soon, hopefully)

She is a Sassy Cheryl's digi, "Sassy Flower Girl."   The challenge over at Cute Card Thursday is #206-Signs of Spring.    This is new paper I recently acquired, Bazzill Basics, Jaybird Street. The Cheesy Surprise Gift!!

Image
Hi everyone!!  Happy Sunday to you all!!   I woke up to more snow this morning. Not sure how long it is going to last or how much we will get. It is still my day off, so I really don't care!! Plus, I don't have to shovel, as I live in an apartment!!  I do have to run to the store to get more veggies, however.   Since Wednesday, I have given up caffeine, eating only high protein shakes and bars and veggies. Plus lots of water and herbal teas.  I have lost 6.8 lbs so far.  I get a little hungry now and then, but then I try to eat veggies or Sugar Free Popsicles or jello.  Wish me luck!!!    So no to my card today....  This is another on of Sassy Cheryl's cuties!!! It is called "The Cheesy Surprise Gift."   It must be pretty cheesy by the look on her face!!  She is colored with Copics,The card stock is YoYo Yellow, and Gina K Pure Luxury White. The dp is a new Gina K called "Wisteria Lane."   This is only 1 of 8 different patterns in the pack!!  I love

Summer Swinging!!

Image
Isn't she a cutie?? This is a Prairie Fairy digi called "Summer Swinging" .  I know, there is a lot of orange!!  I thought it looked kind of "springy." Card stock is Only Orange, Gina K Pure Luxury White. I made this for the Crazy 4 Challenges, using only 2 layers. BUT...the challenge ended yesterday and I didn't enter it in time. Oh well.....   I tore the paper and sponged it with Only Orange. Added some ribbon, a Prima and brad and a new Petaloo flower.  Of course, colored her with Copics.  Notice, she does have purple glasses and tinted lenses of a very light lilac!!    This was a fun card to make. It was hard to only use 2 layers, though. I was on a roll yesterday. I actually made 6 cards!!! Most in one day.  I guess it was the snow falling that did it to me!!     My wonderful friend, Susan over at Cricut & Grasshopper  gave me this awesome award!!   Here is a little info on the Green Blend Award: This award was created by Beckie of

Finally got some mojo back!! Colored 3 images last night, and here is one of them!! This cutie is from Sassy Cheryl's , "Bow Legged Cutie."  The challenge there this week is called #104 "Are you seeing dots?"  She is colored with Copics, dp is Bazzill Basics, "Jaybird Street", card stock is Gina K Pure Luxury White, and SU Yoyo Yellow. I added some bling, and a new Petaloo flower.Corners rounded with Creative Memories Corner Rounder.  The sentiment is SU, but I can't recall the name of the set. We are having a snow storm today!!  Perfect day for making cards!!         A plus, is that my 5 day headache is almost gone!!!  I went to the eye doc yesterday, and turns out I have a large cataract in my right eye. I've had double/triple vision in in for 5 days now.  I just had my eyes checked in September, and it was small then. My headache was all around my eye, and I was really afraid that maybe I had a tumor!! Turns out, he said it is a

Exciting news and my new word of the day!!

My mojo & energy left me again!!  I haven't made anything for over 2 weeks!! I do have wonderful news, however!!  My younger daughter, Cristine became engaged on Thursday!!  Isn't her ring just beautiful!! Kris, picked it out all by himself!!                               The happy couple!!       Last night we were invited over for dinner to celebrate.  We had crab legs, beef tenderloin, garlic mashed potatoes, sauteed asparagus, watermelon and Mini Eclairs!!  It was all very yummy!!!      They want to plan a destination wedding, perhaps in Jamaica in 2013.  Gives me time to lose some weight!!!  I can't wait!!!     Ok, now for a little fun!!  I want to know how you all treat your wenis??  Everyone has 2 of them... I lotion my everyday!!   It is the skin on your elbow!!!   This can be a fun question to ask at your next gathering!! P.S. I've added music.... I hope you like it!!!
