Limited Supplies Challenge & my sewing attempt!!

This was the Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS from yesterday. We were to make a card for someone we love, using the colors of Red, White, Black and Pink. Also to incorporate polka dots.
I love Black & White cards!!! I just don't make enough of them!!
The inside of the card has a white piece of cardstock, and I've stamped Happy Valentine's Day in black ink.
Paper: SU Black, misc dp, Gina K pure luxury.
Ink: Melon Mambo
Accessories: Nesties, Cuttlebug, ribbon, primas, brads, Prismacolor Marker
Next was my attempt to zig-zag stitch on paper. This was my 3rd attempt!! I still couldn't get it right. I was using the hand control instead of the foot pedal, so maybe that was my problem!
Plus the thread kept breaking!!
This was one of my Christmas presents, a Singer Quick Fix Complete Mini machine.
I really wanted to get the zig-zag right!!! The straight stitch was ok.
So, I wasted almost a whole sheet of 12x12 DP, and a piece of Certainly Celery Cardstock!!
Darn!! I hate wasting paper!!! I guess I'll just have to keep practicing!!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!!

That LOVE card is beautiful!
uhm...I love your stitching....It's fun on that paper! A couple of well-placed images and I think you've got an adorable card on your hands!

No advice from me....I have a sewing machine that I'm afraid to use!! LOL! I'm the queen of faux stitching! :)

Love the card! Can't help on the sewing, I have never tried it... Sorry!
Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog :) I love this card, Valentines cards are my favourite! The sewing is really good....much betterthan my attempt (I couldn't thread the bobbin lol!!)

Cindy, you did an awesome job with this card! Great challenge card! If your thread keeps breaking, could be your tensions are set wrong or your needle is bent! Check your manual to be sure you have the right tension settings for the needle and the bobbin. Just a suggestion! Blessings to you!

Fabulous card Cindy! I do a lot of stitching and none of it is done with my sewing machine. Why you ask? Well because me and my sewing machine are always at war, I swear my bobbin is possessed.

Beautiful challenge card!
Oh the stitching will come, just takes a lot of practice. Use the practice paper for whimsical cards, where the stitches don't need to be straight!

I love your card, so pretty. Black, white, red and pink look awesome together.

For my machine, I do better for zig zag stitching using a walking foot (it's really for quilting). Don't know why it helps, but before I used the stitches were really pulling funny.

I love red, black and white cards! This is terrific!
Your card looks amazing! And don't worry about that stitching. You'll get the hang of it soon, I'm sure. I don't even have the guts to try stitching at all, so you're already way ahead of me :D

I love the bling in the flower, and pretty card. I do a lot of sewing and mixed media art and I love your stitching and would love a new sewing machine. I'd use that card, in someone, as it is, a stamp on it, with scrapping, write a note on the back, send it to me, I'd hang it on my wall, it's a pretty card.

Love your card! Red, black & white is always a classy combination, but the polka dots put it over the top! So fun! I've not been brave enough to try sewing with my machine on any of my cards - kudos to you for trying something new. Don't give up!

I have to give you a lot of credit.. I know the struggle with sewing. I couldn't sew to save my life. Even faux sewing stinks for me!! Your card is darling and you did a terrific job. Stay warm up there!! Sending hugs, Peggy

This is a beautiful card! I need to pull my sewing machine back out and do some stitching as I love the look of it. If my stitching is off/crooked/whatever I just go with it.

I really like the red and black Love You Much card. I just did my scrap pages for Feb in red and black and white too. You have some great stuff on here, as always, Cindy. Haven't had the time to blog lately, so it's so much fun to catch up! Have a great day.
