Well I started out the day with a migraine, so I didn't go to work! After several Vicodin, and making several cards, I'm almost headache free! Noah & Calla were here today for awhile while their Dad went to the dentist. That Calla is really growing!! This baby card is kind of plain for me, but I like how it turned out! I used the SU Wash Day Jumbo Roller. I just love it!! Also used SU Warm Words, for the "Welcome". The paper is SU Brilliant Blue and Ballet Blue. I used my Prismacolor pencils and Pebbles Chalk to color the sky.(Although the picture doesn't show it very well. The next card, is a Whipper Snapper stamp (Bunny Baby). I used the Mesties Labels 2, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, Pebbles Chalk, a Blue Prima & Brad, Navy Ribbon,Stickles and misc Designer Paper. This card is made with Barely Banana ,DCWV Glitter Mat Stack paper, Lovely Lilac, Black ink, and the sentiment stamp is SU "For a friend." Check out my SCS G

Another Mother's Day card

Well, here is another Mother's day card. I really like how it turned out! I like the first view because the water looks so sparkly, and the second view, because you can see the darker pools around her feet! Recipe: Paper: Lavender Lace, DCWV Glitter Mat Stack, PTI White Stamps: SU Summer by the Sea, Penny Black (Verse), Misc flower Accessories : Prismacolor Pencils, Pebbles Chalk, Primas, Brads, Gems, Stickles, Creative Memories Corner Rounder My Mom , brother Cliff , my daughter Cristine , and I went to the Donor Remembrance Ceremony today. It was a very moving experience. There was a lot of crying, but also many smiles too. I'm sure my Dad's gift will benefit a lot of people. It will take some time yet before we hear from anyone that received my Dad's tissue. (If they decide to share with us.) If anyone is interested in learning more about MTF (Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation) , you can email at : http://www.mtf.org/ See my previous post to view the *But

Butterfly for Donor Remembrance Ceremony

Image
Sunday, there is going to be a Donor Remembrance Ceremony here in Madison for the donor families to honor the memory of their loved ones. There will be a panel of tissue transplant recipients offering their thanks. My Dad passed away on June 29, 2008 , and he donated his tissue to help others. We were given a Butterfly to decorate to honor our loved one. I attached the poem & pictures that we used in the Memorial Card. I added 3 large Blue flowers, 1 for my Mom , my Brother Cliff , and myself . I attached 8 small red flowers for the 8 Grandchildren , and the 1 small blue flower for Hunter, the only Great-Grandchild . I stamped various words and sayings. My friend, Greg, made this quilt square for me. He transferred the same pictures onto fabric and outlined it with Red fabric with Stars. This square will be added to a Local and/or National Donor Family Quilt . I think it turned out wonderful! My Mom, brother Cliff , and my youngest daughter, Cristine will be going to the cere

I'll never drink lemonade again!! If you don't like to hear about blood, then I recommend that you stop reading here.......... But don't miss the joke of the day at the bottom!! I worked 12 hours yesterday and we were busy all day long! Towards the end of the night a patient (74) came in who had hernia surgery a f

Happy Easter Everyone! I hope you all had a nice time with whomever you spent the day with! (Even if it was just yourself!) I myself had to work, and it was busy enough to keep us from getting bored. We had a drug overdose, back pain, shoulder pain, migraine, toothache and a person who had a grape stuck in their throat. The grape still was not out by the time I left! I brought home a piece of a Lemon Bar, and Eclaire Cake. They were both yummy! Getting on to my card. This was based on a fellow SCS'ers card. **Inge** was todays Featured Stamper. Recipe: Stamp: Whipper Snapper - Stephanie Ink : Black Paper : All Papertrey Ink Paper; Aqua Mist, Pink Patterns, Everyday Blessings, White Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Creative Memories Corner Punch, Gem Rhinestones, Ribbon, Stickles, Primas, Button & Linen Thread. On to my next creation!

Inspiration Challenge

Image
I decided to make an Inspiration Challenge card. My inspiration was based on this wall print from Grandin Road . Mine didn't turn out how I had it pictured in my mind, but I like how it turned out anyway. I know it's a winter scene, and we want to be done with winter, but I really liked that print. I used SU Shimmery White & Black paper. The ink is Black . The stamp is SU Lovely as a Tree , and SaltBox Studio for the fence. I stamped the background first, then the foreground, and then added the fence. I shaded in the pink and blue sunset with Pebbles Chalk and added Opal and Silver Stickles. Then I added the 2 ribbons at the bottom. Now for my next card, I actually made it a couple of days ago. It is kind of "plain" for me, but I really like it. (Plus it is PURPLE ) I used SU Lovely Lilac , (one of my favorites) and Gina K Pure Luxury white. I stamped the white edge & the main image with SU Botanical Blooms. I used the Mar

We had Seafood Lasagna, Jumbalya, Baked pasta, cold Peel 'n eat Shrimp that we brought back from Alabama. Plus many appetizers and cake & ice cream. Hunter is sick again!! He has another ear infection. He's been on antibiotics since Wed or Thur. He was feeling OK on Saturday morning, so Jenn thought it would be ok to bring him down. He played all night, but Sunday morning, he was running a fever again, his nose won't stop running, and has a cough. So, he went back to the Pediatrician Monday morning. He ended up getting IV antibiotics & fluids. Came home on a new, stronger antibiotic, that should get rid of all this!! We all had fun at the party. Baby Brooke even came! Noah's sister Calla , and cousin Mason were there too! We had some fun with rub-on tattoos!! My DH & BIL got them on their bare heads!! Hunter got a bat
