Love, Love, Love!

Todays Featured Stamper on SCS was jdmommy . Her favorite color is RED. This is her card, here is her entire Gallery We were to change at least 2 things. I changed the Stamp , the colors , and the layout. At first I had a red tulip in the center, but when I was adding a pretty little stem and leaves, I smudged the clean white background!!! So, I had to turn the paper over and I came up with this! I used the {stamps} of Life by Stephanie Barnard, Set #4 Love2Hug . The paper is Papertrey Pure Poppy, and Gina K Pure Luxury White. Ink is SU Rose Red . I also used a Martha Stewart Border Punch , added Stickles , and a bow made with SU Ribbon. Well, I have 2 more days to work. Monday is a Holiday (Martin Luther King's Birthday), and I have to work 12 hours. Then only 8 on Tuesday, and finally a day off on Wednesday. I hope to get some more stamping, or scrapbooking done that day.

Limited Supplies Challenge & my sewing attempt!!

Image
This was the Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS from yesterday. We were to make a card for someone we love, using the colors of Red , White, Black and Pink . Also to incorporate polka dots. I love Black & White cards!!! I just don't make enough of them!! The inside of the card has a white piece of cardstock, and I've stamped Happy Valentine's Day in black ink. Paper: SU Black, misc dp, Gina K pure luxury. Ink : Melon Mambo Accessories : Nesties, Cuttlebug, ribbon, primas, brads, Prismacolor Marker Next was my attempt to zig-zag stitch on paper. This was my 3rd attempt!! I still couldn't get it right. I was using the hand control instead of the foot pedal, so maybe that was my problem! Plus the thread kept breaking!! This was one of my Christmas presents, a Singer Quick Fix Complete Mini machine. I really wanted to get the zig-zag right!!! The straight stitch was ok. So, I wasted almost a whole sheet of 12x12 DP, and a piece of Certainly Celery Cardst

Organizing, Valentine, Thank You!

Image
I've spent almost the entire day reorganizing my stamping area. This is my desk (looks messy, but it's really not!). I have 3 carts that I keep most of my stamps in. My finished cards are in the purple basket. Under the desk I have a lovely Panera Bread bag that holds all of my Bubble wrap and shipping envelopes. See the salt lamp on top?? Not sure if it's actually given me any health benefits yet, but I'm keeping it on!! Next is the built in bookshelves that my DH built several years ago for my huge book collection. The doors open up and there are shelves all across the back wall. To the left is my Bookmark collection. My Koala Bear and Teddy Bear are almost as old as me. I got them when I was about 1 year old! A lot of the books have left the building, and have been replaced by stamping/scrapping supplies. My primas & ribbons are on the shelves as well in those 8 white containers. To the left of my desk is my container of baggies with all of my scraps, in a

Scraps, stitching & some Resolutions!!

Image
One of my resolutions is to try to use up some of my tons of scraps that I've accumulated in the last year or so. Another is that I am going to try not to buy anything new for quite a while too, since I have so much already!! I'm going to also try to scrapbook at least once day a week. I have all of our Christmas pictures from 2000-2007 in 1 Red Book. I have another Red book to put in 2008 & 2009. 2008 was the first Christmas without my Dad, so I haven't been able to muster up the emotions to do it yet. If I can get the Christmas's done, then I will feel like I've accomplished something! SO, here is a card made from scraps. (Except for the base) I like this SU dp (Sorry, can't remember the name, as it is in the scrap bag!)I used the Nestabilities Blossom Two to make a flower to resemble the flowers on the dp.I sponged the flower with Pink Passion, Kiwi Kiss, Crushed Curry. I drew in the black lines with a Prismacolor pencil, (but don't look too close).

3 Challenges in one!!

Image
I finally got to put one of my new mini sewing machines to use! My stitching isn't the best, but I hope to improve!! Why did I choose to stitch the ribbon?? I have no idea! Anyway, this is 3 challenges in 1!! Today's SCS color Challenge 252 "Bermuda Celery Hunters" was to use : Bermuda Bay (Paper & Ribbon) Certainly Celery (Paper) Handsome Hunter (Ink) Dessert: anything PINK, except cardstock (Prima & Brads) The Design D*I*V*A*S challenge was to use either Real or Faux stitching. The Sweet Dreamers Challenge was a sketch challenge hosted by Marti (Pezadoodle) I also used Nestabilities Labels One, Martha Stewart Border Punch and Basic Grey Sugar Rush designer paper. Hope you like it!! I hope to get something more done today on my day off!! Fun things anyway, I've already done 3 loads of laundry!!

Limited Supplies Challenge

Image
Well, yesterday I sat at my table for a big part of the day. I just had no imagination at all!! Then I decided to take part in the Limited Supplies Challenge for the day. It was to be a fast and easy card, use something new that we just got (Paper Studio Ribbon & Brads) and use a theme to an annual event. Well I'm not sure if a "thank you" qualifies or not, but thats what I made! The paper is Pacific Point , Misc dp (I think it is Creative Memories), Bashful Blue, Pacific Point Ink, and I used the Blossom Nesties. I did get more Christmas things put away. My DH went out and bought a new storage thingy to put the Grandkids toys in, in our family room, so I spent some time arranging that. So now instead of 4 large tubs overflowing with toys and stuff, there is a nice unit and only 2 tubs! One has Baby dolls, and the other has trucks!! Well, I'm off to work now!! Happy New Year everyone!!
