My Birthday!!!

Image
I promised I would post pictures from my birthday... My DD, Jenn had this cake waiting for me when I got home from work. (She had to work 1:00 to 9:30pm) It is called a Tipsy Pig Cake. It was a Red Velvet cake soaked with a Vanilla Vodka cream.  Guess that's why its called "Tipsy."  So, Jenn sang to me when she got home from work.  A few of my co-workers surprised me with this lovely basket full of goodies!!  My other DD, Cristine had us over for dinner on Saturday after I got off of work. She made yummy Lasagna (Gasp...I forgot to take a picture!!)  Anyway, this was my "cake" a fruit pizza!!  I don't know why there are 8 candles!!! I had to show my cards. Cristine gave me the tear jerker on the left. It even has a bookmark, and I collect those.  Jenn made me the one on the right. My Mom had sent me a card AND a Michael's Gift card, but she knew I wanted a Tart pan with a removable bottom, so she had left these at Cristine's

Pizzelles

Image
Here are the Pizzelles that I made for our Christmas Cookie exchange at work. I wish I would have taken a picture of them laid out, but forgot.  I made 10 packages of a Baker's dozen (13) in each.  I had only 3 left over.  I was glad i ddin't need to make a whole extra batch to get enough.  But, it would have been nice to have some extra, for MY cookies!!!  I still have time, maybe I'll whip some more up. I added this to each package so everyone would know what a Pizzelle is and a little information about them.    I brought home 9 different kinds of cookies and candies.  (One of the persons cookies got left out of my bag.)   :o( Hope you enjoyed my Pizzelle's!!! Come back to see my Birthday pictures on my next post!!

Italian Thank you cards

Image
If you saw my post from a couple of days ago, I made 4 "Thank you" cards in German for a co-worker of mine.  Today I'm posting the 4 Italian "Thank you" cards that she also wanted.       The image is from Digi Stamp Boutique , it is a company in the UK.  The set is called "Fancy a Tipple Doodles." Funny name...    This first one is made with Real Red, Old Olive and a misc dp. I colored with Copics and Prismacolor Markers. i added Stickles for the wrapper at the top and on 3 of the labels.  I added Stickles on 3 of the Wine buckets and the ice cubes.   This card has the fancy corners, using the Creative Memories corner punch.  This must be "Rose" wine.  The sentiment, "Grazie" I printed on the computer and mounted on an oval mounted on a scallop oval that I pierced.            This is using Perfect Plum & Certainly Celery Card stock and Basic Grey "Springtime" dp. I added a piece of plum colored ribbon.  Thi

German Thank you cards

Image
One of my co-workers asked me to make her some Thank You cards.  She went to Italy and Germany this past summer.  She wanted 4 cards for their friends in Germany.  So...I found this beer mug from Meljens , it is called Irish Brew.   Well, since the cards are for Germans, I cut out the Shamrock in the upper right hand corner. I added White Flock for the suds, and some Stickles to the bubbles.  I colored with Copics, popped the mug up on Dimensionals and put the mug on a mini flag.   The card base itself is the German Flag. (I hope it is ok that the little one is not right side up.) The colors are Black, Real Red and Summer Sun.  I know a lot of real German beers are darker, but I thought this looked more realistic.       The sentiment "Herzlichen Dank", means "Heartfelt Thanks."    I printed that out myself, and mounted on black card stock.     I also made 4 Italian Thank you cards.   Come back to see that post in a day or so.

Scarf & Cookies....

Image
I don't have a card to show today, but I did recently make myself a scarf.   One of my co-workers bought one at a craft fair, and, of course I thought, "I can make one of those!"  It is not a scarf for warmth, but for accessory purposes.          Well, all of the yarn cost me $47.00 !!!, but I can make many scarves out of it.  I'm going to make variations of it for each of my daughters for Christmas.    As you can see, it is not crocheted or knitted.       You just gather all of the lengths of yarn, and about every 6-8", tie with a piece of thin ribbon.  You can make it any length you want.  The next ones, I will definitely make about 6 inches longer.  I like to decoratively tie mine, and like them to hang a little longer.          Here is a close up of the scarf    Super-close up  Here are the yarns.  I used 6 of them in the scarf, a total of 35 strands.  Close up of the yarns. The purple on (2nd from right) will definitely unravel,

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

Well, here is another Snowman card!!  I just love them!!  This one is a digi by  JustInkLined . It is called "Merry Christmas."       It is colored with Copics, dp is DCWV Christmas Stack, card stock is Gina K Pure Luxury White and SU Real Red.  Added some Christmas Primas with some bling brads.      My DD and I got the tree up today.  Or, rather I should say 2 trees.  I had my little tree up in the Living Room, but she thought it was too puny and sad looking. So she moved it into my computer/craft room.....Yes, it is a little sad looking.. It was brand new last year, but after Rascal climbing into it so many times, he has broken some branches, so there are holes.....            ...   Here is her tree, now in the Living room... I put the Stockings on for the picture          Here is the "Rascal".....  Here are some of my Snowmen...  More Snowmen....   and more.......

The Cat Lady

Image
Here is another great image from "JustInkLined." She is called "The Cat Lady." Isn't she a hoot!!??   I made this for one of my Mom's dearest friends. She only has 1 cat, but used to have more... I know she will like it!!!     I colored with Copics, shaded with Pebbles Chalk, added some Stickles for some glitz. The corners were made  by a Creative Memories punch. I added some bling and the fibers for ribbon.                 I couldn't decide which picture I liked better, so I posted them both .      Hope you enjoyed!!   DD and I got the tree up yesterday, but not all of the ornaments are on it yet.  We both worked today and Monday, so it may have to wait until Tuesday.   Yesterday I made some home made Chicky/Turken soup.  (I used the frozen leftovers of the Thanksgiving Turkey for the stock, and added chicken.)  It was very yummy!  I then made 4 little loaves of Banana Nut bread!! The place sure smelled good!!!

Snowfriends and flakes!!

Image
What is cuter than a bunch of Snowfriends?? I just love Snowmen!!! They are my favorite winter cards to make!!  This is a Priaire Fairie digi image, "Snowfriends."    I colored them with Copics. At first I had the perfect dp to use, but then decided to use my Cuttlebug and the Snowflake Embossing plate. The card stock is Elegant Eggplant and Gina K Pure Luxury White. I sponged the edges with Elegant Eggplant, used Creative memories Shape cutter for the oval. The Corners are made by the SU Photo corner punch.  I just love them!!!       There are multiple challenges I'm entering in: Sassy Cheryl's:  #92 Winter Stamps R Us: Emboss Phindy's Place: Sprinkling of snow Crazy for Challenges: Plenty of Snow Shelly's Images: There's no business like Snow Business            I hope you enjoyed my winter card!!! Time for bed, but I hope to be in the mood again tomorrow after work.  My vacation is over!!!  I should be off Friday, but we would
