Certainly, Pixie Appeal & New "do"

Image
This was yesterday's color challenge. The colors are Certainly Celery, Pixie Pink & Apricot Appeal. I used "Greenhouse Garden" for my image. I've found that I'm not too good at the double stamps. I should have applied the sticker to the wood first, and then the rubber. So it was difficult lining up the 2 images. I popped up 3 of the flowers on dimensionals. I used the same color inks, but also used mambo Melon to the center of the pink flowers. Added a little Prismacolor marker to the center of the Apricot flower. I used my Creative Memories corner rounder, added ribbon and used my Pebbles chalk in yellow around the image. I also stamped Certainly Celery to the base. Well, I got my new "do" today! Took my own picture too!! Nurse Joke: #1 The company I work for offers tours through the historic district of Annapolis, Maryland, led by guides dressed in Colonial clothing. While leading a group, Felix, one of our guides, tripped and fell, breaki

Sweet Dreamers' Challenge #1-About Me!

Here is the first Challenge card for our new Blogging Group on SCS, "The Sweet Dreamers" We were to make something using our favorite color, which of course is PURPLE , and showing something that we like to do other than stamping. So, since I am an RN, this was the perfect stamp! When I was in High School, I was a Candy Striper and our uniform was Red & White Striped. I once had a pair of very sparkly Silver shoes that I wore to a wedding, so I made these shoes sparkly PURPLE! The crochet flower at the top, is of course PURPLE too. My Grama taught me how to crochet many years ago. I made my Grandson Hunter a Baby Blanket 4 years ago, and it even made my daughter cry tears of joy!! It had been years since I crocheted anything! Now this flower, I did NOT crochet. I bought some on ebay!! I would have no idea how to do it!! Also, I love flowers, and I really like this Mulberry Paper !! I also used Lovely Lilac , Bashful Blue (to bring out the blue fibers in the

This was a Color challenge card using Night of Navy, Pretty in Pink & Really Rust. I ended up not even stamping anything! I didn't start out with that intention though. I used SU Tea Time dp to punch out the larger flowers with the 5 Petal Punch. The little flower is from SU Trio Flower punch. The green leaves are from SU Pretty Stems Die, used in my Cuttlebug. The flower pot is Creative Memories dp and a strip of Really Rust, punched out with the SU Tag punch. Then I grabbed the Martha Stewart border punch and added the little punch to the right of the card. I added 2 Papertrey Buttons with SU twine to the larger flowers, and a pink brad to the little flower. Here is Hunter, on our way to the Petting Zoo & Farm market! He 's got his Diego shades on. Looks like he's in deep thoughts, doesn't he?? This pic was taken last night. Auntie Gail helped him build this with the Tinkertoys. Not really sure what it is, but the tall part is a smokestack!! I made th

I've been very busy!! This card was for a Clean & Simple challenge using Black/White & a Bold Brights color ( Lovely Lilac ).The stamp is Crazy for Cupcakes . I colored with Prismacolor markers , added stickles and a brad and ribbon. The sentiment is Warmest Regards. My Mom asked me to make this card for her. Aren't these chicks a hoot?? This is a Penny Black stamp "Carolers", the sentiment is Warm Words, stamped in Lovely Lilac . I layered it on a piece of Lovely Lilac that I punched with the Ticket Punch and added 2 yellow brads . I used Yoyo Yellow , Lovely Lilac and PTI White. I sponged Yoyo Yellow on the 2nd white layer and around the music notes, although it's hard to see in the picture. I added a Yellow & Lilac ribbon that matches perfectly. The image is colored with Prismacolor markers. I used Prismacolor pencil , Deco Blue to outline the chicks. This card was for todays Ways to Use it Challenge. A charm had to be added. I

Here is the most recent picture of my husband Tom and me, with our grand kids! We went out to dinner to celebrate his birthday and our DIL Kari'sBirthday. The kids are from the left: Hunter (4) he belongs to my daughter Jennifer. Brooke(4 mos.) belongs to Tom's son Jason and his wife Kari. Calla (18 mos.), Noah(5) belongs to Tom's daughter Hattie and her husband Tim. After dinner we all went to Culver's for Ice Cream!! I'm on vacation this week, but have only gotten 1 card done so far. We babysat for Calla & Noah for 24 hours, so my time was taken up a little! My Mom asked me to make Birthday card for someone who likes cats. The Happy Birthday is a misc stamp. I added a gem for the "i" dot. I really need to watch more tuto

Lazy day!!!

Today was the first of 3 days off!! I have been very lazy all day!! I didn't even get dressed until 3:30 this afternoon!!! Here is a picture of little Brooke (our grand-daughter) taken yesterday. Her Daddy is trying to teach her to keep her dress down!! She just insists on showing her belly!! She will be 4 months old in about a week. So while being lazy today, I read emails, surfed around on Facebook and SCS, updtated my next SU order and I managed to download some more pictures that I lost on my hard drive. So then I thought it was time to try to get a little creative. I made the 2 following cards for my Mom. She has a list of about 15 cards she wants made for her. She picks them off of my Facebook photos. The stamp set is SU Give Thanks. The Thank you is by Inkadinkadoo (Kathy Walsh) The Thanks a bunch is SU Love ya bunches . The paper is Real Red, Pacific Point , Night of Navy ,PTI White, Misc & CM dp. I colored with Prismacolor markers, added stickles , roun

I haven't been on for a week, since I lost my ENTIRE Hard-drive. I am so upset over it. I do have some pictures on CD's, but not many. Luckily most of them are on Shutterfly and thank goodness all of my cards are on SCS, and the majority of them I just posted to Facebook about 2 weeks ago!! Here is nice picture of my Dad & Mom from a few years ago when they went to a wedding. Last week on June 29 was the 1 year Anniversary that my Dad died. I spent the weekend with my Mom. We kept busy making Strawberry-Banana Jam. It turned out very yummy!! I miss him so much!! I did get busy and got some cards made. I've borrowed this set, so I actually made 5 of these cards! I posted my first 2 a couple of weeks ago. I tried 2 different colored yellows. I like the look of Summer Sun (on top) better than YoYo Yellow. (bottom). I'll have to try some different color combinations. I think black and yellow would be great too! Well, I've got a lot of work ahead of me, trying
