Hello Kitty-- See my new "do"!!!

Image
Thursday will be the last day for our PM Secretary, Ann, in the ER where I work. She is retiring after 35 years!! She is a Hello Kitty FANATIC !!! I found this free digi download at http://www.hellokitty.com/ . It was actually a whole coloring page, but I just used the main image. I found a bunch of Hello Kitty stuff at Target in the $1 isle, including this bag. I filled it with the goodies, plus a Halloween jar filled with her favorite, Candy Corn. I found a cute little Hello Kitty stuffed toy too! I colored the image with Prismacolor markers, and used my new Crop-A-Dile to attach an eyelet to the inside so that I could hang the Hello Kitty Ribbon. She does not know it, but there was a collection taken up and we got enough money to send her to New Zealand for 5 weeks in Nov-Dec to see her daughter and 3 grandchildren. Her daughter has lived there for 11 years, and she has not even seen the 2 youngest kids yet!! I'm sure she will be very surprised!!! Well, I wen

Meet Trixie, my new "Sister", and Sweet Dreamers Challenge #8 Ebony & Ivory

Image
I was in Wausau this weekend with my Mom. She had a stress test on Friday, since she has been having some chest pressure. The test came out normal , so it is probably just a lot of stress and anxiety. She also got me a new "Sister", Trixie !! She is a TeddyBear (Part Bichon Frise and Shitzu. She belonged to my daughter Jenn's friend, and she couldn't keep her anymore. Her name was Roxy, but my Mom changed it to Trixie. Isn't she cute?? She took her in and had her groomed and they put in these cute little pink ribbons! They didn't stay in long though! Trixie and me!! She has her new rawhide bone in her mouth, which she loves! This is my take on the Sweet Dreamers Challenge #8, "Ebony & Ivory." We were to use only Black & White/Vanilla. I guess I was dressed for the Black & White challnge and didn't know it!! It is definately a CAS card!! I just became a club member of The {stamps} of life , by Stephanie Barnard, so I decided to

2 Blog challenges in one!!

Image
About a week ago I was invited to join a new Blogging group, "DESIGNING D*I*V*A*S*". The first challenge that I'm participating in was to use a Sentiment or Word-art as the Focal point of the card. My other Blogging Group, "Sweet Dreamers ", this is our Challenge#6 "Share a Hug". We were to make a card for someone that really needs a hug !! I made this for my Mom!! Some of you know that we lost my Dad unexpectedly on June 29,2008 following successful heart surgery.(10 days earlier) My Mom is doing a lot better, but she still needs lots of hugs!! We have other family turmoil going on, and that doesn't help matters at all!! SO I hope when she receives this card in the mail tomorrow, it will bring a smile to her face!! Here is a close up of the sentiment. Recipe: Stamp: SU Sidekick Sayings Ink: Blue Bayou Paper: Blue Bayou , White card stock & Blue Bayou dp Accessories: SU Blue Bayou Ribbon, brads, Prismacolor pencils

Taste of Madison - CASE of Chrissy's Card

Image
Today was the annual Taste of Madison! We've gone each year since 2000, except for 2006, when he went to Las Vegas to get married!! This is my husband Tom, me, Kary & Steve (Kary & I went to Nursing school together.) She and her huband moved to Madison in March 2000, and I moved here in June of 2000!! My daughter, her boyfriend, and another friend also joined us. I ate way too much! I had a couple of Egg Rolls, a Rib Eye Steak sandwich, Cheese Curds, Vanilla Fudge Brownie Cheesecake (yummm) and a Strawberry-Banana Smoothie! Plus 2 beers!! It took 5 hours to consume all of that! We walked around the Capitol square 4 times, so we did get our exercise in!! So that was the Taste, until next year!! Here is a card I made yesterday. I cased it from Chrissy at SCS (danceswithhooves) I just love how it turned out!!! Recipe: Stamp : Lovely as a tree, Always in my thoughts Ink: Close to Cocoa, Night of Navy, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Taken with Teal, Color Box Canary P

Another CASE of Michelle Zindorf

Image
I went back to Michelle Zindorf's tutorial page and CASED another card. The stamp set and some of the ink colors are different. I don't have any clear embossing powder, so I had to use Holographic. You can't really tell in the picture, but it is a little sparkly. Now I guess that I must get some. I really love her techniques. I think her card is bigger than mine, I had to keep cutting and cutting. Stamps : Great Impressions :E640 Paper : Gina K White, SU More Mustard, Baja Breeze & Not Quite Navy Ink : SU Crushed Curry, Close to Cocoa, Night of Navy, Baja Breeze, Pumpkin Pie & Memento Black Accessories : Prismacolor Markers, Versamark Marker, Holographic Embossing powder, heat gun, sponges, brayer, white ribbon and silver brads, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots I just love her tutorials!! Maybe after I CASE enough of hers, I will have enough imagination to do my own!! Today is my 2nd day off. Later we will be babysitting for Calla & Noah and I believe they will be

Sweet Dreamers Challenge #6- Get Your Motor Running----Sad news- My Flowers

Image
This weeks Sweet Dreamers Challenge #6 , is to make a card with something that has a motor to make it run! The only motor stamp I have is this SU Loads of Love , and the accessories . I also used Firecracker Designs (Pamela Clark-Create a Scene & Little Things ), and SU Branch Out. I really liked doing the tree the other day, so thought I would try another. I used Prismacolor pencils & markers, SU & misc ribbon. Ink colors are Close To Cocoa, Memento Black (My New Favorite), Green Galore, Glorious Green,Handsome Hunter, Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange & Bashful Blue. Of course, the SU circle and Scallop punch. Well to start off with the sad news... Since SU is implementing their new demo agreement, I placed my last order as a hobby demo. I don't agree that I should be censored with what I put on my blog. I use many companies supplies in my crafting, not just SU. So, the 2nd part of the bad news, is the new Blogging Group that was being formed, "Stamp-Berries

Scene in a Garden

Image
I was checking out blogs today, and I was at Shelly's and I came across a tutorial by Michelle Zindorf and CASED this card. Doesn't exactly like hers , but I really enjoyed it. I must try this again. I didn't have the same colors to use that she did, so I had to improvise. I used Porcelain Prints DP, Black & Gina K White Cardstock. Ink colors were, Kiwi Kiss, Handsome Hunter, Crushed Curry & Close to Cocoa. The stamps sets were Scene in a Garden & Branch Out. I added black & white check ribbon and a brad in each corner . I colored the boots, bird and bench with Prismacolor Markers & Pencils. Thank you Shelly!!! Here is a pic of my new OTT lite. I really like coloring by it! Had lunch with one of my BFF's today. Earlier today I was in the cleaning mood. Vacumned behind all the bedroom furniture, dusted, washed all the bedding and cleaned the ceiling fan. That is enough work for one day!! Maybe my husband & I will go out to dinner tonigh
